How to Add Backstock Bin Numbers
A quick guide for store staff on adding more bins to your backstock setup in ResaleAI.
Before You Start: A Few Notes on Bin Numbering
For bins to sort numerically, all bin numbers must have the same number of characters.
- Bins numbered
0001,0002,0003will sort correctly. - Bins numbered
1,2,3will sort like this:1, 10, 100, 11, 12, 13— not what you want.
If your company owns multiple stores, we recommend giving each store its own prefix. The prefix goes before the bin number so you can always tell what store a bin belongs to — helpful if bins end up in the wrong store, or if your stores share a storage space.
Example: C0001 for the Cool Springs store, M0001 for the Murfreesboro store.
