Suggested Task Lists

- Developing some additional task lists for your store is a great tool to keep your staff on track and motivated. It also saves time in the store- employees can check ResaleAI to see what needs to be done next (instead of waiting for instruction from a manager or team leader).
- The task lists will show up on each day that you select in settings. Employees check off tasks by selecting their name from the drop down to identify that they've completed the task. Click here to learn how to create task lists.
ResaleAI auto-populates an "Opening" task list and a "Closing" task list with some general tasks. These are adjustable and you can customize them to your store's opening and closing procedures. However, many stores choose to add other task lists to further help there them.
These are some suggested lists for your staff:
-Opening
Some tasks have clarifications, such as vacuuming including below the racks.
Others are things that may appear obvious, but are easy to forget as more important tasks like counting money or stocking the floor take priority. This is why even the quicker tasks like deleting old buys or putting out abandoned holds are included.
-Mid-Day Tasks
Mid-day task lists often are comprised of the same task due at different times. This way, our team is reminded to restock throughout the day, or reminded of tasks such as tagging before a shift change. We find these reminders may appear redundant, but lessen the workload for the team at large, as now the evening crew isn't left with all the day's tagging, or the morning crew isn't responsible for restocking everything sold the previous day. This scaffolding makes tasks more frequent, but less overwhelming.
-Cleaning Tasks
We consider it better to make cleaning tasks separate of open or closing lists, as this lets anyone do so throughout the day, rather than make cleaning the entire store the responsibility of just one shift. A cleaning task list is a an easy way to guarantee your team is remembering to refresh even the "out of sight, out of mind" areas of the store, such as the tops of fitting rooms or baseboards below racks.
Keep in mind: think of what the customer sees. The staff might spend more time behind the counter or the fitting room cart and therefore clean those areas more thoroughly. Walk through the store from the customer perspective and see what appears in need of cleaning from the viewpoint of a shopper. :)
-Team Leader/Manager Tasks
There will be tasks that some employees cannot complete, such as conducting buy audits, running reports, reviewing ledgers, and so on. Having a distinct manager task list offers a reminder to your management team of duties outside of everyday operation. This helps ensure they are following through with your staff appropriately and helping build the best team your store can have.
-Rack Maintenance Tasks:
With the Rack Maintenance list, you can really use the full benefits of scheduling different tasks for different reoccurring days of the week. I've included a screenshot of how we schedule our Rack Maintenance in our stores). We have a separate task for each section of our store, and every day there are a few sections to be maintained. The next day, there are a few different sections to be maintained.
When creating these task lists you can use existing checklists you already use or create a new process entirely. We've made this feature extremely customizable to ensure that it will fit what your team needs.
