Why are my goals different than what i expected?

Modified on Tue, Aug 27 at 3:09 PM

The comps in RAI are a little different from Winmark's reports: RAI uses the comparable day of the week of the previous year. So for instance, 8/27, does not compare to 8/27 of the previous year, it compares to the corresponding Tuesday.
At the bottom of your monthly reports page, you will see the exact dates:
"Thursday, Aug 1st 2024 - Saturday, Aug 31st 2024 compared to Thursday, Aug 3rd 2023 - Saturday, Sep 2nd 2023"

This is so the date comparisons are more accurate, rather than compare the exact dates (which would compare today to Sunday and grossly skew your anticipated sales). This also shows a better month-over-month comparison, since some months have more or fewer Saturdays than the previous year, and so on. :)

What can also affect your goals are things such as holidays where you are closed or have an extenuating circumstance that requires you to be closed. RAI will see that day as having $0 sales, but will make the goal whatever you have your minimum sales goal set at.
